the true meaning of 'departure lounge'

Have you been noticing departure lounge lately?!
I have. And quite frankly, always. Both on domestic and international departures, I take time to observe my fellow travelers.
How a mother was trying to convince her kids that the flight will be pleasant, that their daddy is waiting at the end of the journey with full of presents at hand; how a young couple enjoying themselves, cuddling and kissing (mine!); how a full-suited young lady busy with her laptop - brainstorming ideas for her next presentation, which she will dutifully completed during the flight; a bunch of those stories.
To me, these are faces of departure lounge. Despite the cold blooded face of airline ground crew, who never smile, especially when there are delays, I take pride to be able to enjoy and share the feelings, of happiness, anxiety or otherwise, of my fellow travelers.
I can feel how difficult it is to cool-down traveling kids, especially on looooong flight; I sympathise those anxious but career conscious lady who is struggling with her important presentation to important client.
Phew! Life is colorful at the departure lounge. To me, this is more than just a departure lounge, it is essentially the beginning of new life, new career, new hope. But to some, it is the end of the road.

Yes, departure lounge is indeed a miniature of life.** (post lama, belagak orang puteh konon :))
